Community Christian Fellowship is prayerfully in a succession planning period, seeking its next Lead Pastor. Our current Lead Pastor is intentionally focused on moving out of his position in 2 years, and we plan to find an experienced pastor to work with him in his final year and to gradually pass the torch from one to the other. During that first year, the incoming lead pastor would serve in a complimentary position, sharing preaching duties and working to mobilize the congregation according to their giftedness. This would include expanding small group ministry and further developing the assimilation of new people.
Community Christian Fellowship is a 100-year-old congregation that is vibrant and represents all ages in ministry. About 200+ attend each Sunday morning. Youth and children’s ministries are active and well-led. There are many small groups meeting, as well as men’s and women’s Bible studies. The church has a commitment to global missions and a rich history of Bible teaching and evangelism. The current staff includes a full-time Youth Pastor, Part-Time Children’s Director, Part-Time Communications and Connection Administrative Assistant, and Part-Time Church Administrator. The church is elder-led, consisting of six men plus the pastor.
We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to Christ and His church. We desire that they have church leadership experience, a divinity degree, a loving and caring perspective, and are a good communicator. We also want their wife also to be committed to the Lord and church ministry and be complimentary to her husband’s ministry. The ability to develop and lead a church staff is also important. Responsibilities for the first year, co-leading with the current lead pastor, would include regular preaching and teaching opportunities, small group development and oversight, a gradual movement into staff leadership, working closely with the elders in developing future vision, and actively getting to know the congregation leadership and members.
As Lead Pastor, responsibilities would be to work with the elders to lead the church, guide the church in discipleship through biblical teaching and preaching, care for the hurting, pray for and visit the sick, counsel those preparing for marriage, guide people into baptism and membership, serve communion regularly, give guidance to the head deacon for church care and management, lead and evaluate the staff.
Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.
Benefits – Health insurance for family, dental and vision coverage, retirement stipend, four weeks vacation, paid holidays, and expense account.
